Our hourly positions operate at a fixed scale for each role. Hourly pay rates for these roles range from $16.70-$20.64.

The mission of TPSS Co-op is to promote healthful living by offering wholesome foods, high-quality produce, and community resources in a clean, friendly, cooperative grocery store that you own!
Each staff member is asked to help create an environment that promotes respect, honesty, and trust among all co-workers and the highest degree of service to each customer; each staff member is asked to help maintain the store as an ethical and positive place to work and to s. In addition, TPSS Co-op is committed to being an educational resource to the community on ecological, environmental, and food-related issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Verify price tags are present for all products in the department
Rotate older stock to the front, making space for new stock
Check out customer purchases quickly and accurately, using the correct prices and departments
Pull short-date or low-quality items and follow established procedures for recording and disposing
Stock displays fully without overcrowding; face items on shelves
Assist customers with product questions, in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner, referring them to other staff when necessary
Help with receiving deliveries and rotating overstock into backstock
Clean up spills, remove trash promptly, and sweep and mop the floor
Assist various departments when needed
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Available to work at any time, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
Ability to perform stocking tasks
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs
Experience serving the public
Accuracy, attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple demands
Ability to project an outgoing, friendly personality
Ability to stand for long periods
Ability to work in cold, wet conditions
Ability to work in various departments when needed

This is a part-time position. The work schedule is flexible, including evenings and weekends.

$17.29 per hour to start and $17.79 per hour after the probationary period ends.
